    Graffiti Control and Prevention

The City of Dallas Graffiti Abatement Program is a divisional component under the Department of Code Compliance. The programs’ mission is to mitigate problematic graffiti/tagging through community involvement, education & building sustainable partnerships.
  • Mow and Clean Operations

Our Mow and Clean Operation is committed to promoting cleaner and safer neighborhoods while striving to improve the quality of life in your community. The majority of Mow and Clean cases are generated through a Code Officer inspection and referral process. If a property owner fails to voluntarily resolve issues on their respective properties within an allotted time frame, the property is then referred to our operations section for abatement.

Failure to pay billed charges will result in a lien being placed against the property. Lien inquiries should be directed to the City of Dallas Special Collections Division located at Dallas City Hall, 1500 Marilla St 2DS, (214) 670-3438.

    Tire Abatement Unit

The City’s Tire Abatement Unit removes thousands of dumped tires from public and private properties each year. In addition to being a fire hazard and causing environmental pollution, improperly discarding of tires can lead to breeding grounds for mosquitos who carry the West Nile virus and also provide a haven for snakes and rodents. Disposing of used tires is easy. Just drop them off (up to six per visit) at the McCommas Bluff Landfill, 5100 Youngblood or the Bachman Transfer Station at 9500 Harry Hines Blvd. The service is free to residents presenting a valid form of identification showing a Dallas address and Dallas Water Utilities bill.

People who illegally dispose of scrap tires in Dallas can go to jail, be fined up to $2,000 or receive a misdemeanor citation from the Dallas Marshal’s Office.
